November 17, 1998 marked the 100th anniversary of the Chickasaw Nation Capitol in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. The Legislature voted to hold our meeting in the capitol on this historic date. For me, it was a really special day for several different reasons. My relative Eli Perry Goforth was the first in my family to hold a position in the Legislature. Before statehood, Eli served as an interpreter for the Legislature. There was a true nostalgic feel as we held session that day. Several citizens were dressed in period clothing to celebrate the occasion. I only wish that I could show you all of the session. It lasted for about 42 minutes. This day was also the 16th birthday of my daughter Mahate.  I hope that you enjoy this short YouTube clip. Have a great Christmas. I am still working on pictures for a Christmas slideshow.
